Report presentation on Russian regional public diplomacy to be held at RIAC
On February 9th, 2023, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) will host the Presentation of Report "Practicing Public Diplomacy in the Regions of the Russian Federation (2017 – 2021)".

RIAC and PICREADI have prepared the Report based on previously arranged extensive research. From February through September, 2022, the two organizations gathered and analyzed data on 84 regions of Russia. As a result, they were able to make a rating of the regions' public diplomacy potential.

In Russia there are regions that have been actively developing their international ties. However, the information about the structures, actors, programs and projects in regional public diplomacy has not been systematized yet, nor has the public diplomacy potential of Russian regions been evaluated in the context of international relations.

The Report contains novel data on the potentials of Russia's regions in public diplomacy, as well as the current practicing of public diplomacy in the regions.

The Report and the Rating will be represented by Natalia Burlinova, President of Creative Diplomacy and a RIAC expert, and Vera Tabak, Head of Research Group of Creative Diplomacy.

Discussing the Report will be:
  • Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programmes,
  • Ekaterina Torubarova, Head of the Department of Public Diplomacy of Rossotrudnichestvo,
  • Diana Kovela, Deputy Director and Head of the International Office of the Fund of Creative Technologies «Ulyanovsk – the cultural capital»,
